Boys weekend

Thursday, December 4, 2008

The boys spent last weekend on the farm while I stayed back and held down the fort. It was nice for me to actually catch up on work sleep, and Matt thoroughly enjoyed allowing his parents to watch Henry as Matt scoured the woods for innocent deer to kill.

While at Grandma & Grandpa's, Henry scooted around and played with his new favorite toy, a cooking spatula. {Note to self: do not spend oodles of dollars on expensive and fancy light-up toys for young child. Rather, cheap, plastic cooking spatula will entertain for hours}
As for the tale of Man v. Beast that unfolded in the woods: Beast won. Matt arrived safely home Monday night with puppy and baby in tow, but much to the hunter's dismay, there were no antlers to hang or carcass to stuff {Aww, Shucks!}. Unfortunately this means that the hunt for the big buck continues leaving me a hunting widow for a few more weeks. Good thing we have a lot of cooking spatulas {wink}.

First of all, what a beautiful picture of your family at the top of your blog! Secondly, your son's spatula interest is why I'm telling my son's Grandparents not to get him toys for Christmas. Children are sure to find wonder in anything and everything!
